Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that two violating oil tankers were struck and brought to a halt in the Strait of Hormuz, while four other tankers attempting to transit via a route other than the one designated by Iran quickly turned back.

In a statement, the IRGC Public Relations Office said the IRGC Navy continues to maintain full control over the Strait of Hormuz while safeguarding the trust placed in it by the "faithful and vigilant Iranian nation."According to the statement, in the early hours of Friday, two violating oil tankers, encouraged by the US Central Command (CENTCOM), attempted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz via a route not authorized by the IRGC and under the air escort of the "child-killing and terrorist US military." The IRGC said the two vessels were struck and forced to stop.
The statement added that four other oil tankers, which had ignored IRGC warnings and entered an unsafe and unauthorized route, quickly altered course and returned to their previous positions.The IRGC further stated that it had informed all shipping companies and marine insurers the previous night not to pay attention to CENTCOM's "false statements and announcements." The IRGC Navy reiterated its warning that the US military's "illegal interference and unlawful orders" to vessels operating in the region would not go unanswered.The IRGC statement also declared that the Strait of Hormuz remains closed and that any transit through the waterway is possible only with prior coordination with the IRGC Navy.
The statement pointed out that CENTCOM is falsely claiming that navigation through the Strait of Hormuz is continuing normally and that shipping companies can pass through the waterway safely under US military escort.
